That makes me SO DAMN MAD! I am sending this video to my dad and I don't care if it pisses him off - I'm so tired of hearing about the "Nazi" government trying to take over health care and how they're going to ruin it - as if what we have now is acceptable!

I'm a Canadian citizen who has been in the US for 5 years, and although it was my choice to work and live in the US, I'm so tired of the amount of fear mongering that's going on with respect to health care reform. I can't tell you how irked I get when I hear references to how poorly Canada's single-payer system works. And it is a single-payer system, NOT socialized medicine because the health care providers are private.

I realize that people's fears are exploited by those lobbying for the status quo, but the level of mis-information out there, and the willingness to jump on the Obamacare = Nazism train is ridiculous.

If Canada's system was so bad, and Canadians hated it so much, then why are the Canadian outcomes better than the US outcomes. Canadians have and average age of 80.5 years as opposed to US's 77, the US spends about 35% more on healthcare per person as a percentage of GDP.

Finally, if Canada's system was so bad, then why does it never come up as an issue during our elections? Not even our most conservative politicians want to change our single-payer system to look more like the US system.
