Climate Disinformation

Energy companies would like us to think there is confusion about global climate change.

What is disinformation and is there a difference between it and not enough information. I heard a news story over the holidays that 140- 175 years of reliable temperature recordings is in no way enuf to determine anything about global change. There point was after all the vikings settled greenland when it was 70% green. Not at all how we find it today.Perhaps everyone should try real hard to remember in the history books the fossil fuels that were being used 1100 years ago and earlier that caused greenland to become green the last time.

There is considerable knowledge of climate and temperature further back than 140-175 years ago. That is what gives us reason for concern. The rapid rate of change is what is so startling and unprecedented.

Thanks Steve. You are are right. Scientists use ice samples to show atmospheric conditions going back millions of years.

I find it interesting that "anonymous" comments are usually poorly informed.
