Purple State of Mind
I just got my copy of Purple State of Mind and watched it with my wife tonight. We both enjoyed the film. I highly recommend this movie for small discussion groups. It is bound to start a few deep conversations and stretch your perspective of faith.

Looks interesting -- good conversation starter.
Looks interesting, indeed. The preview seems to indicate some good honesty. I like that. There are a few friends I've had for most of my life that hold differing beliefs than my own, and I cherish their friendship. Maybe in 3 decades, we'll make a film like this as well!
Mike, you own this? Would you be willing to lend it out?
Jeremy, I'll make you a copy of the dvd. Drop by the office sometime.
I'd actually love to see someone have a public screening and discussion somewhere downtown with a more broad audience. Maybe.... the Well? I'm going to have my faith group watch it together.
The best thing about the movie is that I think everyone will find problems with both characters and agreement with both characters. It has an interesting effect. Mostly, it creates discussion and helps people realize different beliefs and political views don't have to end friendships.
Thanks for the recommendation. My wife and I meet monthly with a group of old friends who are on various points along the Red/Blue spectrum, and it sounds like this documentary would be perfect for us.
